Here, There, and Everywhere

Many Americans who immigrate to Israel cluster in  English-speaking neighborhoods.

Not me.

My neighbors have included Hungarians, Iraqis, Moroccans, Tunisians, Russians, as well as native-born Israelis. And, over the years, I’ve also known Jews from  Romania, Kurdistan, Kafkazia, Albania, Ethiopia, Algeria, Egypt, Columbia, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Shanghai, India, Switzerland, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Canada, Iran, Norway, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, South Africa, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldava, Belgium, Latvia, Australia, Brazil, Slovakia, Czech  Republic, Gibraltar, Syria, Spain, Uzbekistan…. and probably more.

And  our kids  are marrying into  Yemeni-Yugoslavian, Iraqi, Moroccan,  and British families.

Ain’t it great?
